What I’m Reading

Books I’m reading in my quiet moments. Mostly fantasy. Often romance. Always cozy.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (present, but not overwhelming)

This was an enjoyable, easy-to-sink-into fantasy romance series with a female main character I genuinely liked spending time with.

Lor is the heart of the story. She’s strong, capable, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. I appreciated that her strength isn’t performative. She takes care of herself and her family in practical, grounded ways, which made her feel believable rather than overpowered.

The first two books were my favorites and felt the most compelling. The pacing was tighter, the stakes felt clear, and the story pulled me along easily. The third and fourth books dragged a bit for me, mostly due to the heavy use of flashbacks. While they added context, they slowed the momentum more than necessary.

The world-building isn’t as expansive as some epic fantasy romances, but it doesn’t need to be. This series leans more character-driven, which worked for me.

Overall, this was a cozy, entertaining fantasy romance with a strong FMC, solid emotional beats, and enough intrigue to keep me reading, even when the pacing dipped.

Final verdict: Worth reading, especially if you enjoy fantasy romance with capable heroines and moderate spice.
